The Crystal Vase

by: Author Unknown,

There once was a young woman who lived with her aunt. Her elderly aunt had been given a priceless gift, a rare and beautiful crystal vase. Hand-cut by a master craftsman long ago.
So this precious vase was a gift that the aunt did not use in, for she feared that it might get broken. So she packed the vase packed away and was just happy knowing that she possessed something so valuable.
One day, the elderly aunt when on a trip to visit some friends that lived some distant away, leaving the her niece home alone for a few weeks.
While cleaning, the young woman came upon on the box with the vase in it. And though she didn't know anything about the antique crystal vase, she thought it far too beautiful to be hidden away in a box. So she took the vase , filled it with flowers and set it on the table by the window . Passersby were delighted by the way it caught the sunlight. And the woman felt as though she was giving a little gift to every one who passed by.
When her aunt returned home from her stay with friends, she was startled to see her price less vase setting on the table by the window.
" Don't you see?" she explained to her niece, " I hid it away because it was too valuable to use!"
" And I used it because it is too valuable to hide away" replied the niece.
So it is with the priceless gift of faith. For some people it isn't enough simply to possess faith in God. They want to share their gift with the world so that everyone may witness its beauty. For these people each good work is a reflection of God's purpose at work and His wondrous live shining through for them.
