Life Over Death

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Late one Saturday night, a pastor was putting the final touches on his sermon for Sunday morning.
This particular Saturday night was a little different, he usually put the finishing touches on his sermons in his study at his home, but had left a particular book that he wanted some quotes from at his office. As he completed his last sentence, he thought he'd better give his wife a call to let her know that he was on his way home. As he turned his light off at his desk, a knock came from the door. He looked at his watch and noticed that it was after eleven and wondered who could this be.
With reservations, he stepped towards the door. Asking who it was on the other side of the door, a young ladies voice exclaimed, "I need to talk to someone."
The pastor opened the door and saw a young lady all of sixteen. He asked, "What can I do for you sweetheart?"
"Are you a preacher?" she asked.
"Yes I am." He responded, "Won't you come in and sit down."
"Pastor, I am pregnant. My boy friend wants me to have an abortion and I don't think it's right to take a life!"
"You are very wise." said the pastor, "Life starts at conception, Have you told your parents?"
"No, they wouldn't understand!" exclaimed the young frightened girl."I am to meet my boy friend at a clinic downtown at midnight to have an abortion; but I don't want to do it."
"My stand is and always will be pro life?" as he showed her some scripture from the Bible backing up his stand. He told her; "God planted that seed in you and only He can take it away, not man."
Before the young lady left, the pastor asked her if she would pray with him as they got on their knees, he took her hand as he prayed for life and not death.
"God will give you all the wisdom you need, if you leave it in His hands. I hope I have helped. God bless you young lady!" His words followed after her as she left.
The pastor tossed and turned all night, wondering if he had made a difference or not; only praying that he had. "Oh God! Please give her the wisdom she needs."
Almost two years had passed since that Saturday night. Still vivid in his mind, he wondered if he had made a difference; he prayed that he had. As he and his wife often do every Wednesday night after church, they went to a local restaurant where they served a buffet. This particular Wednesday night didn't seem any different from others with the exception of a young couple that was standing in front of them in line.
The young lady was trying to hold her year old baby. As most babies do at that age, this one continued to squirm and squirm. The young man with the lady took the baby but with little triumph, he had the same problems.
The young lady said, "He's never like this! I can't explain it." The young couple excused themselves and started to move out of the line. While walking by, the baby made an unbelievable jolt as he jumped out of the young man's arms into the unsuspecting arms of the surprised pastor who quickly reached and grabbed the baby.
The startled mother couldn't believe what had happened as her eyes met the pastor's. Tears flowed from both as their eyes met. He now had his answer to the question which had haunted him for two years; it was life. The mother said, "He never goes to anyone!" as the baby lay totally still, asleep next to the pastor's heart.
The pastor married this couple two weeks later. Today this couple spends every Sunday morning teaching Sunday school in his church. Twice a week they work in the community for pro-life groups, helping others find life over death.

Lesson from Crest, A

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Sunday mornings can be a bit hectic for my staff and myself. You see, we are a Children's Church and on some Sundays we average about 40 children in attendance from ages 2 to 12. There are some 13 year olds who don't want to leave us so they stay around to asisst with the toddlers.
On this particular Sunday morning, a little girl from the neighborhood shows up to Church but sits outside near the bushes. One of the children came to me and pointed her out. I went outside to talk to her. I asked why she didn't want to come in with the other children.
She replied, "They will make fun of me because I don't have shoes to wear."
I assured her that this would not happened. Then she told me, "I have this ugly blister on my arm and they will be afraid of me." I asked to see it and said, "Ah, that's nothing." I then took off my suit jacket and showed her my blister which was much bigger and uglier than hers.
She was amazed and asked me how I got it. I told her and got her to tell me about hers. She still wouldn't come in after all that. I prayed, "Lord I need Crest." Crest is one of my staff members who is excellently anointed to work with children. No sooner than I completed my prayer than Crest walked up. I called him over, explained what was going on and her immediately took over.
He took this little girl into our office with her brothers around the back way. In a few moments, our office door opened and she walked in with her brothers. While doing our devotionals, God laid it on my heart to allow Crest to teach the lesson. I was obedient and so was Crest.
I went into the back of the room and began to catch up on some administrative work when all of a sudden I heard the following instructions from Crest to the children. "Everyone, take your shoes off. Then I want you to take your socks off and line them up against the wall." He took his off too and bagan to teach the lesson. I looked over at the little girl's face and it was lit up. She could not believe that someone would go through this for her, now nobody knew who didn't have socks or shoes to wear today.
I thank God for the lesson Crest taught me today. I hope that other Children Church leaders will read this and get something out of it. After all, Jesus did say, "Suffer the little children to come unto me..." and Crest did just that.

Jesus, You Are God, And I Am Not

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Jesus, you are God and i am not, I do not need to concern myself with revenge for hurts, real or imagined, for that is Your job to do in your own time, and in any way you deem appropriate for You are a wise and just judge.
Jesus, You are God and i am not, I do not need to try to manage other people's actions or to interfere in their business, for You know what they should do while I do not.
Jesus, You are God and i am not I do need to have You first and foremost in my life, the centerpiece of everything that I do, say, or think, for you are my king and I am your loyal subject.
Jesus, You are God and i am not, I must not get discouraged in times of trouble but, instead, remember that you never promised that I would not have sorrow, loneliness, or stress, But You did promise that you would always be with me.
Jesus, You are God and i am not, I love you not because i have to but because You loved me enough to die for me and Your mother, my Mama, loves me as her very own.
My Jesus, my God, i love You Amen

Jesus to John

by: Author Unknown, Cidade Calenlixness

John said: "Master, is there any material universe?"
Jesus answered: "No."
John asked: "Is there matter?"
Jesus answered: "No."
John asked: "Is there a material body?"
Jesus hesitated a long time and finally said: "Saints believed that their bodies were fashioned of clay and this believing brought them to death."
Jesus said: "Let not him who seeketh cease from seeking until he hath found:...and when he hath found, he shall be amazed,...and when he hath been amazed he shall reign,...and when he shall reign, he shall have rest....The kingdom of heaven is within you and whosoever shall know himself, shall find it....Strive therefore to know yourselves and ye shall know that ye are in the City of God, and ye are the City."

Insect and Spider

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Once upon a time lived a spider in a cornfield. A big spider with a beautiful nest goes around between corn stems. It becomes fat by eating all the insects that trapped on its web. It really loved to live on that cornfield and plans to stay there forever.
One day, the spider catch a tiny insect on its web, and when this spider going to eat it, the insect said, “If you let me go, I will tell you one important thing that will save your life”. That spider stops for a moment and listen carefully. “You better go from this cornfield,” said this tiny insect, “Harvest time already here!”
The spider smiles and says, ”What this harvest time you talk about? I think you just make up a story”. But the tiny insects says, “Oh no, its true. The owner of this field will come soon to reap. All the corn stalk will be cut off and the corn will be gathered. You will be killed by a giant machine if you stay here.”
The spider answers, “I do not believe in the harvest time or giant machine that will cut off the corn. How you may prove it?” The tiny insect continues, “Look at those corns. Look how those corns were planted in ordered lines. That proves that this field was designed by somebody brilliant”.
The spider laugh and said, “This field grown by its own and has no relationship with a creator. Corns always grow like that”. The insect explain more, “Oh no. This field owned by an owner who plants it, the harvest time will be here soon.” The spider grinned and said, “I do not believe”, and then it eat that insect.
Few days later, the spider was laughing remembered the tiny insect’s story. He thinks, “Harvest. What a stupid idea. I already here all my life and no body is disturbing me. I already here when the plants just half meter tall from the ground, and will be here for the rest of my life, because there is nothing will changed on this field. Life is beautiful, and I will make it that way.”
The next day was a beautiful day on the cornfield. The sky was bright and there’s no wind. That noon, when the spider walks, he suddenly realizes there was a thick dust move on his way. It hears the sound of giant machine and told itself, “What is happening?”
Luke 12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
Matthew 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Matthew 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked [one];
Matthew 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
Matthew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Matthew 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
The stair of life is full with wood shavings, but you will never realize it before you slipped down.

Is the Cross You Wear too Heavy to Bear?

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Complainingly I told myself, "this cross is too heavy to wear"
And I wondered discontentedly why God gave it to me to bear. And I looked with envy at others whose crosses seemed lighter than mine And wished that I could change my cross for one of a lighter design -
And then, in a dream, I beheld the cross I impulsively wanted to wear, It was fashioned of pearls and diamonds and gems that were precious and rare.
And when I hung it around my neck the weight of the jewels and the gold Was much too heavy and cumbersome for my small, slender neck to hold So I tossed it aside and before my eyes was a cross of rose-red flowers And I said with delight as I put it on, "this cross I can wear for hours" For it was so dainty and fragile, so lovely and light and thin, But I had forgotten about the thorns that started to pierce my skin And then in my dream I saw "my cross," rugged and old and plain, That clumsy old cross I had looked upon with discontented disdain.
And at last I knew that God had made this "special cross for me," For God in His great wisdom knew what I before could not see, That often the loveliest crosses are the heaviest crosses to bear, For only God is wise enough to choose the cross we can wear - So never complain about YOUR CROSS, for your cross has been blest, God made it JUST FOR YOU to wear and remember, GOD KNOWS BEST

Idle Angel

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

St. Peter was giving a newly arrived soul a tour of heaven. The two of them were walking side by side inside a large workroom filled with angels.
St. Peter stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all the petitions sent to God in prayer are received."
The soul saw that the section was a very busy one with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous sheets of paper from all the people of the world.
They resumed walking until they reached the second section. St. Peter told the soul, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings are packed and delivered to the petitioners down on earth."
The soul saw how busy it was. There were a great many angels working in that room because countless blessings were being packed and delivered to earth.
Finally, at the farthest corner of the room, they stopped at the last section. To the surprise of the soul, only one angel was there and he was idle.
"This is the Acknowledging Section," St. Peter told the soul.
"How is it that no work is being done here?"
"That's the sad thing," St. Peter answered.
"After people on earth received the blessings they asked for, very few of them bother to send their acknowledgments."
"How does one acknowledge God's blessing?"
"Simple," St. Peter answered. "Just say, 'Thank you, Lord.'"

I Wish

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

"I wish I were big enough honestly to admit all my shortcomings; Brilliant enough to accept praise without it making me arrogant; Tall enough to tower above deceit; Strong enough to welcome criticism; Compassionate enough to understand human frailties; Wise enough to recognize my mistakes; Humble enough to appreciate greatness; Staunch enough to stand by my friends; Human enough to be thoughtful of my neighbors; and righteous enough to be devoted to the love of God."

I Refuse...

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

I refuse to be discouraged, To be sad, or to cry; I refuse to be downhearted, and here's the reason why: I have a God who's mighty, Who's sovereign and supreme; I have a God who loves me, and by grace I'm on His team.
He is all-wise and powerful. Jesus is His name; Though everything is changeable, My God remains the same. My God knows all that's happening; Beginning to the end; His presence is my comfort; He is my dearest Friend.
When sickness comes to weaken me, To bring my head down low, I call upon my mighty God; Into His arms I go. When circumstances threaten to rob me of my peace; He draws me close unto His breast, Where all my strivings cease.
When my heart melts within me, and weakness takes control; He gathers me into His arms, He soothes my heart and soul. The great "I AM" is with me. My life is in His hand. The "Son of the Lord" is my hope. It's in His strength I stand.
I refuse to be defeated. My eyes are on my God; He has promised to be with me, As through this life I trod. I'm looking past all my circumstances, To Heaven's throne above; My prayers have reached the heart of God I'm resting in His love.
I give God thanks in everything. My eyes are on His face; The battle's His, the victory mine; He'll help me win the race. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!!

I Found Jesus There

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

"Tomorrow morning," the surgeon began, "I'll open up your heart..." "You'll find Jesus there," the boy interrupted.
The surgeon looked up, annoyed. "I'll cut your heart open," he continued, "to see how much damage has been done..." "But when you open up my heart, you'll find Jesus in there."
The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat quietly. "When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up and I'll plan what to do next."
"But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart."
The surgeon had had enough. "I'll tell you what I'll find in your heart. I'll find damaged muscle, low blood supply, and weakened vessels. And I'll find out if I can make you well."
"You'll find Jesus there too. He lives there."
The surgeon left. The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, "...damaged aorta, damaged pulmonary vein, widespread muscle degeneration. No hope for transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy: painkillers and bedrest. Prognosis:, " here he paused, "death within one year." He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. "Why?" he asked aloud. "Why did You do this? You've put him here; You've put him in this pain; and You've cursed him to an early death. Why?"
The Lord answered and said, "The boy, My lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock, and will forever be. Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow."
The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. "You created that boy, and You created that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?"
The Lord answered, "The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for he has done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb."
The surgeon wept. The surgeon sat beside the boy's bed; the boy's parents sat across from him.
The boy awoke and whispered, "Did you cut open my heart?" "Yes," said the surgeon. "What did you find?" asked the boy. "I found Jesus there," said the surgeon.

I Am Learning Lord

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

My life has taken many falls And tumbles 'long the way. The many trials have left me In a sure state of dismay. For with each trial, I tried alone To tend, and soothe, and mend, Instead of giving them to God - And on Him just depend ...
But, I am learning, Lord.
It seems that I was determined to carry all the load. I longed for smoother pathways. Yet, I walked a rocky road. Little did I understand, God waited patiently To pave a new beginning With a better life for me.
But, I am learning, Lord.
It took a real disaster To bring me to my knees; To finally call upon the Lord And say, "God help me, please." He can, with no delaying, With strong arms that could hold - The weight of all my burdens; He gladly took the load.
And, I am learning, Lord.
What a needless cross I carried, All because I could not see - What a friend I have in Jesus, And the love He has for me. Peace I find when troubles hover, Though the outcome is unknown. For if yet the road is rocky, I won't walk it all alone.
For, I am learning, Lord.

High Road Leads to a Bike, The

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

It was a year ago that Joshua Saffle got a bike for Christmas, and he rode it every day. That is, until recently, when the bike was gone from its usual place. Running to his front yard, Joshua, 9, saw a man loading it into his car. He shouted, but the man drove off. Mrs. Saffle said Joshua has strong faith, and told his dad he forgave the thief. What's more, he wanted the thief to know he was forgiven. So the next day, he dictated a message that his mother wrote on a large poster-board. He signed it, stapled it to a sawhorse and put it in the front yard. ''To the person who stole my bike: You really hurt my feelings when you took my bike. But I am a Christian and beause (sic) Jesus forgave me, I FORGIVE YOU!!'' When Joshua's father left for work the next day, the sign was face-down in the yard. But then, at the end of the driveway, the bike was back, and with new handlebars, grips and a new front fork assembly.

Heavenly Food

A young woman was packing a suitcase for a long trip.
She said to a woman who was watching her, "I'm just about finished.
I only have to put in a guidebook, a lamp, a mirror, my favorite love letters, a microscope, a telescope, a volume of fine poetry, a song book, a few biographies, a package of old letters, a sword, and a set of books I have been studying."
The onlooker gasped, "How do you intend to get all that in your suitcase? It's almost full now!"
The young woman replied, "Oh, all that won't take much room"
She then walked over to a table, picked up her Bible, placed it in the corner of her suitcase, and closed the lid.
Winking at her friend, she said, "And I even got in a loaf of living bread, too."

He Knows Your Name

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

When you are having problems

And feel there's no help around.First take one step forward. To get to higher ground.
If you think that God doesn't hear you. Then that, is really a shame Not only does He hear every Prayer you say; But, He knows you, by your name.
It does not matter just where you are

When you call upon the Lord.He will be listening with a well-tuned ear.

And will understand every word.
Be ready to listen to what He says,

As He tell you what to do.For that, will be your instructions.Because the rest will be up to you.
You should thank Him for His kindness,

Because He was standing by.

And not, as you thought; He had turned away.

And would never, hear your cry.
Even though you have made so many mistakes. He will not hold you to blame. For now, you are fully forgiven.

And remember, He knows your name.

Happiness Comes from Giving

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

This story is about a beautiful, expensively dressed lady who complained to her psychiatrist that she felt that her whole life was empty; it had no meaning.
So the counsellor called over the old lady who cleaned the office floors, and then said to the rich lady, "I'm going to ask Mary here to tell you how she found happiness. All I want you to do is listen."
So the old lady put down her broom and sat on a chair and told her story: "Well, my husband died of malaria and three months later my only son was killed by a car. I had nobody... I had nothing left. I could'nt sleep; I couldn't eat; I never smiled at anyone, I even thought of taking my own life. Then one evening a little kitten followed me home from work. Somehow I felt sorry for that kitten. It was cold outside, so I decided to let the kitten in. I got it some milk, and it licked the plate clean. Then it purred and rubbed against my leg, and for the first time in months, I smiled. Then I stopped to think; if helping a little kitten could make me smile, maybe doing something for people could make me happy. So the next day I baked some biscuits and took them to a neighbour who was sick in bed. Every day I tried to do something nice for someone. It made me so happy to see them happy. Today, I don't know of anybody who sleeps and eats better than I do. I've found happiness, by giving it to others."
When she heard that, the rich lady cried. She had everything that money could buy, but she had lost the things which money cannot buy.

Hands

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.

A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6.

A baseball in Mark Mcquire's hands is worth $ 19 million.
It depends whose hands it's in.
A tennis racket is useless in my hands.

A tennis racket in Serena Williams' hands is a Wimbledon Championship.

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal.

A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea.
A sling shot in my hands is a kid's toy.

A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches. Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in God's hands will feed thousands.
Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.

Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world.
It ALWAYS depends whose hands it's in.
So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because ...... in those hands everything will turn out right for you and your loved ones.

Grandpa's Precious Gift

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

I wanted a baby with all my heart, but I was not getting pregnant. I waited, I prayed, I cried and I went to my parents when I could not find any more courage inside myself. With their love and support, I carried on...through tests, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization and life in general.
Over four years passed. Then, on March 8, 1997, a day I will never forget, my loving father passed away. He was our leader. He believed in us more than we did. He believed in miracles. Our family felt lost without him. My mom, my siblings and I all struggled, trying to keep our spirits up without Dad by our side. All the while, I kept trying for a baby, to no avail. I finally surrendered all my trust over to God's hands in order to find some peace in my heart. On a television show, my mom saw a speaker who suggested writing a letter to your deceased love one to help heal your wounds. Unbeknownst to me, she tried it and it seemed to help her immensely.
After five long years of trying to conceive, it finally happened. I was pregnant! My baby's due date was the day before my dad's birthday. Yet, that day came and went. My baby girl, Samantha, decided to be born right on her grandpa's sixty-first birthday! What an extra wonderful surprise. When it seemed like one door closed in my life, somehow it was opened right back up.
When Samantha was about six months old, I continued to marvel at the miracle of hope I had been given from heaven. It was then that my mom told me about her letter to dad. Here is the part she wrote about me. "Sharon and Ron still have had no luck on having a little one. Maybe you can ask God to give them some help!" That letter was written two months before I got pregnant.
I am writing this letter to my mom, dad and, of course, God as thanks for keeping my heart full of love, hope, trust and the strength to believe in miracles. Also, thanks from Samantha Grandpa's precious gift.

God's Wings

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

An article in National Geographic several years ago provided a penetrating picture of GOD'S wings. After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage.
One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he struck it, three chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings.
The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered it under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. When the blaze had arrived and the heat had singed her small body, the mother had remained steadfast. Because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.
"He shall cover the with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust" (Psalms 91:4)

God's ABC's

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Although things are not perfect

Because of trial or pain

Continue in thanksgiving

Do not begin to blame

Even when the times are hard

Fierce winds are bound to blow

God is forever able

Hold on to what you know

Imagine life without His love

Joy would cease to be

Keep thanking Him for all the things

Love imparts to thee

Move out of "Camp Complaining"No weapon that is known

On earth can yield the power

Praise can do alone

Quit looking at the future

Redeem the time at hand

Start every day with worship

To "thank" is a command

Until we see Him coming

Victorious in the sky

We'll run the race with gratitude

Xalting God most high

Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

God Loves Me

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

What does GOD mean to a drunker? I have just realized it by the last two weeks ago. I had a game competition with a friend of mine we played table tennis. In his team, he is the second player, for I am the first player in my team. The chill weather of Armidale didn't impact the game at the moment. I beaten my friend, Mike, easily in the first set, but suddenly he rose again in his spirit in the next set, and it made that we had to have a third set...and at the last moment, the ball from Mike was too hard for me to catch...and at that time, Mike screamed out "God loves me!!"
I loose the match. And Mike smiled to me and said, "God loves me!" After that, I came to Mike. He easily said "There's a popular song, God loves puppies, children and drinkers. " And all that I know is Mike is a drunker also, and he continuing his words " I drank two glass of wine before this match. "
I was surprised. Not just because I smelled the wine from him, or not just because I was hardly accept the fact that a drunker able to beat me easily, but because I was shocked by his word "God loves me!" How could God love a drunker?
The next match, explain my surprise feeling. In the double match, Mike and his partner had to loose the game. At that time, I heard that once more Mike screamed out, but for now his words all are full with bad words, for he is so mad about his loosing in the game. He didn't mention again God's love in his words. Maybe that's just all the meaning of God for a drunker, just like Mike. When he gets something good, he thanked to God, but at the next moment when something bad came to him, God is forgotten.
Then, it came to my mind, maybe that's how the way we believe in God just like Mike thanking to God. We praise Him when we want to praise Him, and we easily forgotten Him any time we wish. Hemm..and then it seems, the tittle above should be replace to "What does God mean for us?" Will we be able to keep remembering God in sad and good times? So..I can realize that I was not only loose the match from Mike, the drunker, but I also learn to seek what God means for me because of Mike..

God is in Every Tomorrow

God is in every tommorow,

Therefore I live for today;

Certain of finding at sunrise

Guidance and strength for the day,

Power for each moment of weakness,

Hope for each moment of pain

Comfort for every sorrow,

Sunshine and joy after rain.
God is in every tommorow,

Planning for you and for me,

Even in the dark I will follow,

Trust where my eyes cannot see,

Stilled by His promise of blessing,

Soothed by the touch of His hand,

Confident in His protection,

Knowing my life-path is planned.

God Is Good

There were two men having a trip together. They brought a donkey to carry their things, a torch to brighten the road at night and a chicken, which was a donkey's friend. The chicken sat on the donkey's head during the trip.
One of the two men was very religious, while the other one was the unbeliever. Along the way, they were having conversation about God. "God is so good," said the first one.
"Well, we'll see if you still think the same during this trip, " said the second.
When the nightfall, they reached a small village and they were looking for a place to sleep. They have been looking everywhere yet no one would want to take them in. So they had to continue their trip out of the village and decided to sleep there.
"I thought you said that God is good," said the second one cynically.
"God has decided that this is the best place for us to sleep,"explained the first one.
They put their tent under a big tree, beside the road to the village and tied the donkey five metres away from their tent. When they were going to light the torch, they heard some noise. A lion attacked the donkey, dragged and ate it. They promptly climbed the tree to survive.
"You still think that God is good?" asked the second man angrily.
"Hadn't the lion killed the donkey, we would have been eaten. God is good,"said the first.
A second later, they heard the sound of their chicken. From the tree, they could see that a big cat attacked the chicken and dragged it everywhere.
Before the second man said anything, the first man said, "The sound of the chicken saved us once again. God is good."
A few minutes later, a big wind blew off their thorch which was the only thing that kept them warm. Once again, the second one mocked his friend. "Apparently, God's kindness has been working on us all night," he said. The first man said nothing.
The next morning, the two men went back to the village for food. Soon they found out that there were some robbers attacked the village and robbed the whole village.
Knowing that, the first man said, "Now it's clear. God is really good. Had we spent the night here, we would have been robbed along with other people. Had the wind not blown our thorch, the robbers, who passed the street near us, would have seen us and robbed us too. It is so clear that God is good."

Forgiveness

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

A letter written to a man on death row by the Father of the man whom the man on death row had killed:
You are probably surprised that I, of all people, am writing a letter to you, but I ask you to read it in its entirety and consider its request seriously. As the Father of the man whom you took part in murdering, I have something very important to say to you.
I forgive you. With all my heart, I forgive you. I realize it may be hard for you to believe, but I really do. At your trial, when you confessed to your part in the events that cost my Son his life and asked for my forgiveness, I immediately granted you that forgiving love from my heart. I can only hope you believe me and will accept my forgiveness.
But this is not all I have to say to you. I want to make you an offer -- I want you to become my adopted child. You see, my Son who died was my only child, and I now want to share my life with you and leave my riches to you. This may not make sense to you or anyone else, but I believe you are worth the offer. I have arranged matters so that if you will receive my offer of forgiveness, not only will you be pardoned for your crime, but you also will be set free from your imprisonment, and your sentence of death will be dismissed. At that point, you will become my adopted child and heir to all my riches.
I realize this is a risky offer for me to make to you -- you might be tempted to reject my offer completely -- but I make it to you without reservation.
Also, I realize it may seem foolish to make such an offer to one who cost my Son his life, but I now have a great love and an unchangeable forgiveness in my heart for you.
Finally, you may be concerned that once you accept my offer you may do something to cause you to be denied your rights as an heir to my wealth. Nothing could be further from the truth. If I can forgive you for your part in my Son's death, I can forgive you for anything. I know you never will be perfect, but you do not have to be perfect to receive my offer. Besides, I believe that once you have accepted my offer and begin to experience the riches that will come to you from me, that your primary (though not always) response will be gratitude and loyalty.
Some would call me foolish for my offer to you, but I wish for you to call me your Father.
Sincerely,The Father of Jesus

Footprints

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Every Woman is Beautiful

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

A little boy asked his mother, " Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman", she told him. " I don't understand", he said. His mum just hugged him and said, " And you never will"..
Later the little boy asked his father, " Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?" " All women cry for no reason" was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God; when God got on the phone, the man said, " God, why women cry so easily?"
God said, "When I made women she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world; yet, gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times come from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt them very badly.
This same sensitivity helps her make a child's boo hoo feel better and shares in their teenagers' anxieties and fears.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
And finally I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed. The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides."
Every woman is beautiful.

Empty Chair, The

by: Author Unknown,

A man's daughter had asked the local pastor to come and pray with her father. When the pastor arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows and an empty chair beside his bed. The priest assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit. "I guess you were expecting me," he said.
"No, who are you?"
"I'm the new associate at your local church," the pastor replied. "When I saw the empty chair, I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the pastor shut the door.
"I've never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man. "But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it always went right over my head.."
"I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued, "until one day about four years ago my best friend said to me, 'Joe, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus. Here's what I suggest. Sit down on a chair, place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I'll be with you always.' Then just speak to him and listen in the same way you're doing with me right now."
"So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful, though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The pastor was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old guy to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with him, and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the pastor that her daddy had died that afternoon.
"Did he seem to die in peace?" he asked.
"Yes, when I left the house around two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me one of his corny jokes, and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead. But there was something strange, In fact, beyond strange--kinda weird. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on a chair beside the bed."

Do You Feel There is No Hope

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

In your times of deep despair,

Do you feel there is no hope?As the darkness closes in on you,

Do you feel you cannot cope?
As you struggle on through every trial,

Do you say "When will it end"?As you cry yourself to sleep at night,

Do you wish you had a friend?
When your body's racked with aches and pains,

Do you feel you are alone? When you think about the future,

Do you fear the great unknown?
There is someone who really cares,

And He hears your every cry.

His arms are reaching out to you,

And on Him you can rely.
When things close in around you,

He sees your fear and doubt -He wants to hold you in His arms,

And He will never cast you out.
As you stumble through the darkness,

He will be your guiding light.

He wants to wipe away your tears,

For you are precious in His sight.
Reach out right now to Jesus,

And let Him take complete control -He'll take that heavy burden,

And He'll touch and make you whole.
He's reaching out His arms to you,

And He wants to be your friend.

Let Him take you in His loving arms,

For His love will never end.

Depend on Miracles

One Sunday morning I heard my minister say if you want result from prayer, pray for thirty days without ceasing. I didn't know why it was thirty days, but I was willing to give it a try. The following became my daily prayer:
I am available, Lord, to be used by You each day. Guide me, precious Lord, and lead me in what I say and do. May my words and actions be a witness that You are living in me. To the one that is lonely, may I be a friend. To those with heavy burdens, help me to meet their needs. Lord, I do not want fame or fortune. My prayer is that You will use me to glorify your name. I know I don't have much to offer, but I will give You my all. Guide me to be what You want me to be. Amen
On the twenty-first day of this prayer, CPR took on a new meaning for me. I was working an extremely busy twelve-hour night shift in Labor and Delivery. I had just sat down for my first break when a phone call came from my friend working in the Emergency Room. I barely recognized her urgent voice. An eighteen-year-old boy had been brought to the ER for alcohol and drug overdose. The young man was very close to death and they had done all they could do to help him. The father of this boy was requesting a priest or minister and they were having difficulty locating one that could come to the ER quickly. My friend stated, "We know you're a Christian and we need you to come and try to comfort this father. Please help."
Reluctantly, I said I would come down. As I waited for the elevator my thoughts became very judgmental and frustration welled up inside me. Then I remembered the prayer I'd been praying. I walked into the ER and approached the father. Taking his hand, I silently led him to the chapel. Before I could even say, "I am not a minister," this six-foot, two-hundred-twenty-pound man sank into the chair and became a broken hearted child.
Through his non-stop sobbing he spoke, "Christian, pray for Raymond. I remember the first time I held my boy. I felt so proud and I just kept saying, 'I have a son.' As the years passed those tiny feet became bigger and walked away from his family's love and entered a strange, hardened, and destructive world. Tonight, too much alcohol and an overdose of drugs are taking his life.
It's as though he wants to rebel against everything his family stood for. He knew what he was doing was wrong. Sometimes he seemed so afraid, but he wouldn't stop. Now it is too late. Christian, you have to pray for Raymond." Those large hands trembled in mine and as I looked into his eyes, I mourned with him. Silence fell between us, as I searched for the words that would comfort this crumbling tower of a man. I felt so inadequate. I wanted to scream, "Lord it has only been twenty-one days since I began that prayer! I am not ready for this!"
Time was running out and I knew I couldn't stall any longer. I clutched his hands, now wet with tears, and began to pray. The words came easy, much to my surprise.
I finished praying with him and went to Raymond's bedside. I took his cold, lifeless hand and once again began to pray. "Lord I am asking for a miracle and I know You can do it."
I stayed with them both until Raymond was taken to Intensive Care. I visited Raymond on a daily basis and continued to pray for him. Eight days passed with little improvement. On the ninth day I entered the ICU and a miracle had taken place. Raymond was awake and talking with his father. CPR had taken on a new meaning for me: "Christian Pray for Raymond". As I left the ICU with tears falling down my face, I realized, today is the 30th day of my prayer.
Now I not only believe in miracles, I depend on them.

Darts

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a Seminary Class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says Dr. Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons.
One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day. On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.
Sally's girlfriend drew a picture of a girl who had stolen her boyfriend. Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased at the overall effect she had achieved.
The class lined up and began throwing darts, with much laughter and hilarity. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr. Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any darts at her target.
Dr. Smith began removing the target from the wall. Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus.....
A complete hush fell over the as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced. Dr. Smith said only these words..... "In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me." Matthew 25:40
No other words were necessary; the tear-filled eyes of each student focused only on the picture of Christ.

Darrell Scott's Testimony

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Testimony of Darrell Scott -- father of two victims of Columbine high school shooting -- Littleton, Colorado before the subcommittee on crime -- House Judiciary Committee -- United States House of Representatives, Thursday, May 27,1999 2:00 p.m. -- 2141 Rayburn House Office Building
Since the dawn of creation there has been both good and evil in the heart of men and of women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence.
The death of my wonderful daughter Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher and the other children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.
The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.
In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA.
I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA -- because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughters death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.
I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies!
Much of that blame lies here in this room. Much of that blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves.
I wrote a poem just four nights ago that express my feelings best. This was written way before I knew l would be speaking here today.
Your laws ignore our deepest needsYour words are empty air. You've stripped away our heritage. You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms. And precious children die.You seek for answers everywhere. And ask the question "WHY"?
You regulate restrictive laws.Through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand. That God is what we need!
Men and women are three part beings. We all consist of body, soul, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our makeup, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc.
Spiritual influences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historic fact.
What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God and in doing so, we open the doors to hatred and violence.
And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that continue to erode away our personal and private liberties.
We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre.
The real villain lies within our own hearts. Political posturing and restrictive legislation is not the answers.
The young people of our nation hold the key. There is a spiritual awakening taking place that will not be squelched!
We do not need more religion. We do not need more gaudy television evangelists spewing out verbal religious garbage. We do not need more million dollar church buildings built while people with basic needs are being ignored.
We do need a change of heart and a humble acknowledgment that this nation was founded on the principle of simple trust in God.
As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes. He did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right!
I challenge every young person in America and around the world to realize that on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School -- prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain.
Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your conscience and denies your God-given right to communicate with Him.
To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before you cast the first stone!
My daughter's death will not be in vain. The young people of this country will not allow that to happen.

Daddy Is Driving

by: Author Unknown,

A speaker (Dr. Wan) has once shared his experience:
While his family and he were in Europe, there was once that they need to drive 3 days continuously, day and night, to get to Germany. So, they all got into the car -- he, his wife, and his 3 years old daughter.
His little daughter has never traveled at night before. She was scared the first night in the car, with deep darkness outside.
"Where are we going, Daddy?" "To your uncle's house, in Germany."
"Have you been to his house before?" "No."
"Then, do you know the way?" "Maybe, we can read the map."
Short pause. "Do you know how to read the map?" "Yes, we will get there safely."
Another pause. "Where are we going to eat if we get hungry before arriving?" "We can stop by restuarants if we are hungry."
"Do you know if there are restaurants on the way?" "Yes, there are."
"Do you know where?" "No, but we will be able to find some."
The same dialogue repeated a few times within the first night, and also the second night. But on the third night, his daughter was quiet. The speaker thought that she might have fallen asleep, but when he looked into the mirror, he saw that she was awake and was just looking around calmly. He couldn't help wondering why she was not asking the questions anymore --
"Dear, do you know where we are going?" "Germany, Uncle's house."
"Do you know how we are getting there?" "No."
"Then why aren't you asking anymore?" "Because Daddy is driving."
Because Daddy is driving. This answer from a 3 years' old girl has then become the strength and help for this speaker for the many years follow whenever he has questions and fears on his journey with the Lord. Yes, our Father is driving. We may know the destination (and sometimes we may just know it like the little girl -- "Germany", without understanding where or what it really is). We do not know the way, we do not know how to read the map, we do not know if we can find restaurants along the way. But the little girl knew the most important thing -- Daddy is driving -- and so she is safe and secure. She knows that her Daddy will provide all that she needs.
Do you know your Daddy, the Great Shepherd, is driving today? What are your behavior and response as a passenger, His child?
You may have asked many questions before, but can you like the little girl, starts to realize the most important focus should be "Daddy is driving?"

Come as You Are

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

I shook my head in disbelief. This couldn't be the right place. After all, I couldn't possibly be welcome here. I had been given an invitation several times, by several different people, and had finally decided to see what this place was all about. But, this just couldn't be the right place. Quickly, I glanced down at the invitation that clutched in my hand. I scanned past the words, "Come as you are. No jacket required," and found the location.
Yes, I was at the right place. I peered through the window again and saw a room of people whose faces seemed to glow with joy. All were neatly dressed, adorned in fine garments and appeared strangely clean as they dined at this exquisite restaurant. Ashamed, I looked down at my own tattered and torn clothing, covered in stains. I was dirty, in fact, filthy.
A foul smell seemed to consume me and I couldn't shake the grime that clung to my body. As I turned around to leave, the words from the invitation seemed to leap out at me, "Come as you are. No jacket required."
I decided to give it a shot. Mustering up every bit of courage I could find, I opened the door to this restaurant and walked up to a man standing behind a podium.
"Your name, sir?" he asked me with a smile.
"Daniel F. Renken," I mumbled without looking up. I thrust my hands deep into my pockets, hoping to conceal their stains.
He didn't seem to notice the filth that I was covered in and he continued, "Very good, sir. A table is reserved in your name. Would you like to be seated?"
I couldn't believe what I heard! A grin broke out on my face and I said, "Yes, of course! "He lead me to a table and, sure enough, there was a placard with my name written on it in a deep, dark red.
As I browsed over a menu, I saw many delightful items listed. There were things like, "peace," "joy," "blessings," "confidence," "assurance," "hope," "love," "faith," and "mercy." I realized that this was no ordinary restaurant! I flipped the menu back to the front in order to see where I was at. "God's Grace," was the name of this place!
The man returned and said, "I recommend the 'Special of the Day'." With it, you are entitled to heaping portions of everything on this menu."
You've got to be kidding! I thought to myself. You mean, I can have ALL of this!
"What is the 'Special of the Day,' I asked with excitement ringing in my voice.
"Salvation," was his reply.
"I'll take it," I practically cried out. Then, as quickly as I made that statement, the joy left my body. A sick, painful ache jerked through my stomach and tears filled my eyes. Between my sobs I said, "Mister, look at me. I'm dirty and nasty. I'm unclean and unworthy of such things. I'd love to have all of this, but, I Just can't afford it."
Undaunted, the man smiled again. "Sir, your check has already been taken care of by that Gentleman over there," he said pointing to the front of the room. "His Name is Jesus."
Turning, I saw a man whose very presence seemed to light the room. He was almost too much to look at. I found myself walking towards Him and in shaking voice I whispered, "Sir, I'll wash the dishes or sweep the floors or take out the trash. I'll do anything I can do to repay you for all of this."
He opened His arms and said with a smile, "Son, all of this is yours if you just come unto Me. Ask Me to clean you up and I will. Ask Me to take away the stains and it is done. Ask Me to allow you to feast at My table and you will eat. Remember, the table is reserved in your name. All you must do is accept this gift that I offer you."
Astonished, I fell at His feet and said, "Please, Jesus. Please clean up my life. Please change me and seat me at Your table and give me this new life." Immediately, I heard the words, "It is finished." I looked down and white robes adorned my squeaky clean body. Something strange and wonderful had happened. I felt new, like a weight had been lifted, and I found myself seated at His table.
"The 'Special of the Day' has been served," the Lord said to me. "Salvation is yours."
We sat and talked for a great while and I so enjoyed the time that I spent with Him. He told me, me of all people, that He would like me to come back as often as I liked for another helping from God's Grace. He made it clear that He wanted me to spend as much time with Him as possible.
As it drew near time for me to go back outside into the "real world," He whispered to me softly, "And Daniel, I am with you always." And then, He said something to me that I will never forget. He said, "My child, Do you see these empty tables throughout this room?"
"Yes, Lord. I see them. What do they mean?" I replied.
"These are reserved tables, but the individuals whose names are on each placards have not accepted their invitations to dine. Would you be so kind as to hand out these invitations to those who have not joined us yet?" Jesus asked.
"Of course," I said with excitement as I picked up the invitations.
"Go ye therefore into all nations," He said as I turned to leave.
I walked into God's Grace dirty and hungry. Stained in sin. My righteousness as filthy rags. And Jesus cleaned me up. I walked out a brand new man... robed in white, His righteousness. And so, I'll keep my promise to my Lord. I'll go.
I'll spread the Word.
I'll share the Gospel . . .
I'll hand out the invitations.
And I'll start with you. Have you been to God's Grace? There's a table reserved in your name, and here's your invitation . . . "Come as you are. No jacket required."

Christian Poem

Sometimes I ask the question, "My Lord, is this your will?" It's then I hear you answer me, "My Precious Child...be still."
Sometimes I feel frustrated, cause I think I know what's best. It's then I hear you say to me, "My Busy Child...just rest!"
Sometimes I feel so lonely and I think I'd like a mate. Your still small voice gets oh so clear and says, "My Child...please wait!"
"I know the plans I have for you, the wondrous things you'll see; If you can just be patient, Child, and put your trust in me. I've plans to draw you closer. I've plans to help you grow. There's much I do you cannot see and much you do not know.
But know this, Child...I LOVE YOU. You are Precious unto Me.
Before I formed you in the womb, I planned your destiny. I've something very special I hope for you to learn. The gifts I wish to give to you are gifts you cannot earn.
They come without a price tag, but not without a cost; at Calvary, I gave My Son, so You would not be lost. Rest Child, and do not grow weary of doing what is good.
I promise I'll come back for you just like I said I would. Your name is written on my palm, I never could forget; Therefore, do not be discouraged when my answer is... "Not Yet!"

Christian Buddha

One of master Gasan's monks visited the university in Tokyo. When he returned, he asked the master if he had ever read the Christian Bible.
"No," Gasan replied, "Please read some of it to me."
The monk opened the Bible to the Sermon on the Mount in St. Matthew, and began reading. After reading Christ's words about the lilies in the field, he paused. Master Gasan was silent for a long time.
"Yes," he finally said, "Whoever uttered these words is an enlightened being. What you have read to me is the essence of everything I have been trying to teach you here!"
